Job Summary
We are seeking an organized and proactive Office Manager to support the efficient functioning of our office and provide comprehensive assistance to our faculty and staff. As the Office Manager, you will be responsible for various tasks, including research support, event and promotion activities, supervision, and additional administrative responsibilities. You will report directly to the Dean of the college.

Responsibilities*
Research Support
- Research proposal support, as requested by faculty, including proposal editing, budget development, and other document editing
- Maintain grant proposal 'tool kit" on CIT website for faculty to freely access
- Maintain research related web content, offer to assist faculty with updating lab pages with publications, awards, new grants
- Work with Hanover Research with Grants Academy and other faculty developmental programs
- Work with Office of Research on pre and post award processes
- Coordinate and maintain research procurement and inventory
- Work with CIT leadership to use support methods to increase faculty capabilities, students opportunities, and promote growth
Event/Promotion Activities
- Coordinate with CIT Communications Specialist to publicize research narratives, faculty bios, new grants on CIT and UM-Flint sites for broader distribution
- Assist CIT staff with planning annual CIT Research Expo to showcase faculty capabilities and achievements
- Assist CIT staff with planning twice-yearly CIT Project Day
- Coordinate with CIT Communications Specialist on development of promotional materials - especially as related to research, industry, alumni
- Coordinate visiting speakers, workshops, and conferences
Supervision
- Supervise administrative staff
- Arrange staff development activities
- Help with CIT staff retreats
- Coordinate communication among CIT administrative staff
Additional Responsibilities
- Back-up front desk coverage CIT Administrative Offices
- Administrative support for meetings
- Assist faculty and committees with data collection, tracking, recording, and reporting (ABET)
- Help with administrative responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience in a field related to the job responsibilities
- 5 or more years of proven experience in business administration
- Demonstrated direct management experience
- Experience with higher education research grant proposals (including budgets, pre-award and post-award processes)
- Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- The ability to authentically represent the mission, vision and values of the University of Michigan-Flint

In-Person:
Your work schedule will be an in-person at this time and be subject to change based on the responsibilities of the position and the needs of the department.
Background Screening
